Me and my muse
Wednesday, June 4, 2008
Okay, it looks like my muse and I are on speaking terms again, so I'll keep this short so I can get back to the WIP. Apparently getting away from her on Monday and most of yesterday did wonders for our relationship.
When I returned home from seeing the relatives last night, she was waiting at the computer desk for me, smiling and looking like she might actually have missed me.
So I really don't want to mess things up by surfing the net when I could be getting pages done.
Have you hugged your muse today? And, if you don't have a muse, how about a loved one?

My muse is slowly coming back into my life. It's been awhile so we've got a whole awkward get-reaquainted thing going on.
Congrats on yours!!
I've got two muses telling me two different stories, and then dang it all, if a third didn't walk into my room the other night and start dictating too. (I'm still wondering what a psychiatrist would say to my 'voices'.)
And if you muse goes quiet, listen to Susan Mallery's "Screw the Muse: I'm on a Deadline" workshop from the 2007 (I believe it was) Nationals. She doesn't pull any punches about getting your butt back in the chair and your hands on the keyboard.
Thanks Wylie! Enjoy your reunion!
Leah, you have THREE muses? Talk about a par-tay! Hmm, maybe a workshop is in order...
Oops, it's on the 2006 disks ...
And the muses can - and do - walk out on me and party alone some times. Then I'm not a happy Leah.
